Policy for Membership
The Membership committee will consider:
- all new nominees and
- those who were invited to become members before and declined, but who specifically asked to be considered again the next year or in the near future.
The Membership Committee requests that nominators re-nominate their candidate(s) that did not get accepted the first time. The nominator may tell the Cather Circle staff liaison that they would like the name re-submitted as is, but the committee recommends that they give additional information, if they have any, to help the following year’s committee.
Policy for Guest Attendance
Anyone may attend a Cather Circle meeting as a guest of a student or alumna member. Guests attending the entire meeting (or her sponsoring member) must pay the full meeting fee. Guests attending one event/meal will be charged $25.

"Willa" Members
Willas are Cather Circle alumnae members who have opted not to continue in active membership.
All former alumnae members will have the option to be listed on the roll as Willas.
- Dues to remain on the rolls as a Willa will be $25 per year. Willas will also be encouraged to contribute to the campaign and will be recognized for doing so.

Policy for Vending at Cather Circle Meetings
- Space will be made available on a first-come first-served basis. It will be offered to Cather Circle members only until a publicized date prior to each meeting; after that date, if space is still available, it can be used by non members (again on a first come, first served basis) but non-members must have the endorsement of at least one Cather Circle member in order to participate.
- The exact location of booths/displays will be determined prior to each meeting.
- One 8-foot table will be provided to each vendor. Vendors are responsible for providing their own table coverings and display materials.
- Access to the displays will be allowed only when the Cather Circle program is not in session - generally during registration, breaks, lunch, and at the end of the day, but not at times when attendees are to be listening/participating in the program.
- Every vendor will be expected to give a minimum of 20% of their proceeds to Cather Circle.
- Vendors must be present during “exhibit” hours and must handle their own transactions. It is up to each individual vendor to decide which methods of payment he/she can accept. Phone lines for automatic credit card verification will not be available.
- Vendors are responsible for removing their display at a determined time.
- Signage will be limited to within the confines of the designated exhibit space. Cather Circle may display a standing sign outside the entrance displaying Exhibit Hours and Exhibitor's name(s).
- Vendors may not utilize any loud music, so that a normal conversation may take place within the exhibit area.
- Vendors are responsible for any damage done to the existing premises.
- Providing samples or enticements is welcome and encouraged.
- Vendors may choose to make catalogs and/or item samples available to Circle members instead of having a physical display at the meeting. The same policies regarding member endorsement (#1) and percentage of proceeds (#5) apply. In this case, vendors are expected to have some means to track orders originating from Cather Circle.
- The Cather Circle Executive Committee has the right to revise this policy at any time.
